About this site & the provenance of its texts

The texts

The Latin texts and English translations are drawn from aquinas.cc, the Aquinas Institute’s bilingual Opera Omnia. Underlying critical editions vary by work (Leonine where available; others per the Institute’s apparatus) — consult aquinas.cc for the per-work edition statement when citing at the critical-edition level. Reading-page citations here (e.g. ST I q.2 a.3) follow the standard divisions and are stable anchors on this site.

What this site adds

Search (full-text and semantic), the Summa grid, cross-corpus Tradition search over the sister sites (Patrologia Latina, Graeca, Orientalis, The Faith Received), and an AI research assistant.

On the AI layers. Ask answers are machine-generated syntheses grounded in retrieved passages; every citation links to the passage so you can verify. Machine output is fallible — cite the sources, not the synthesis.
